I love the look of burlap.

So you can only imagine the other day when I was out at farm and fleet and I saw a big pile of burlap bags lying there how excited i was. I asked the clerk if they were for sale . She looked and me like I was crazy and said she would call and ask her manager. He said I could have them for $1.oo per bag

So I stocked up. I do not know what I am going to do with them but I am sure I will find something.

Well I am off to the flea market. I am so excited it is the first one I have been to this spring. I will be sure to share all of my treasures with you next post.

Have a great weekend.

Today I came across these cute little pots.

So I decided to plants some herbs in them.

Now I have my own little herb garden in my sun room.

I also picked up this new cushion for my whicker love seat.

I found it at pier one. I didn't go in there for a long time, but I must say I have purchased some pretty cute things there lately.

Make sure to check back soon for my garden give away. Who knows maybe you could plant your own herb garden in some cute little numbered pots.

Spring pots

Today is a cool rainy spring day.

And as much as I love sunny days,

There is something refreshing about the rain.

It also gives me the excuse to stay in on a Saturday morning,

and to get caught up on some of my favorite magazines

While drinking coffee. No place to be , no kids to get off to school, no yard work to do.

And it also gives me time to this. I have been so busy this week that I haven't had a chance to blog. It's good to be back!!!!

And thank you for all of your kind comments about my new look.
I'm getting used to it and I am liking the bangs:)

Frame love

Over the years I have picked up old frames. I love them, I just don't always know what to do with them.
While I was in Fl. I found these adorable little bird clips. So I decided to add some chicken wire to my frame for a place my new little friends could call home.

This one is a bulletin board

I framed a tea towel from anthro in this one.
I love there towels , but they are to cute to use on dishes.

I also decided to get my hair cut short this week.

And added bangs. I haven't had bangs in years. There is a reason for that. I really do not like myself in bangs. But I wanted a change and it is only hair and it grows, so why not?

So let me know are you a bang person or non-bang person.

Enjoy your weekend!

Rentry is hard!!!!!

I love vactation but coming home always takes some adjusting.

The laundry, housework, schoolwork, making lunches it is all so shocking after spending carefree days at the beach.

And to top it off we came home to a very sick dog. Poor thing was staying with my mother-in law and became very sick. I took her to the vet and they ran test.
(350.00 worth of test)
And came to the coclusion that she was stressed and depressed from missing us. Wow now I know why people have pet insurance . We are very happy that she is ok. She is such a good pup.

I also came home to my gardens in bloom.

And beautiful weather!

I love tulips.

Every thing is so vibrant and pretty.

And green. I love all the green after a long winter.

I know that is still early to buy flowers here in IL, but I couldn't resist.

I am very excited for my lilacs to bloom.

I hope wherever you are at spring has arrived!!!

We are home.
We had a wonderful time at the beach!

The boys did a lot of snorkeling

And found lots of sea treasures.

We made sand castles

And we enjoyed beautiful sunny blue skies.

Jonah found some friends to wear as earrings.

And we had some good bonding time.

We started the drive home and ran into heavy spring break traffic, so my husband whipped out the map and we took an alternative route.

This was some of our scenic route .

We had a great week , but after being together 24 hours a day and then the looong car trip home we all felt like we were a little crazy.

it's good to be home!!!

But before i go i want to say a great big thank you to my sister Joyce from

and Renee from

for being guest bloggers for me while i was away. i loved both of there post.
Thanks girls you did a beautiful job!!!!!

Welcome to Passiflora...

I am very excited to be a guest blogger today on this wonderful blog, "A Ruffled Nest" and would like to thank Sherrie for this opportunity. My name is Renee and my blog is "Sewn With Grace." I met Sherrie through her sister, Joyce ("I Love Pretty Little Things"). Joyce and I have been friends since my husband and I purchased her home about seven years ago. God had a wonderful plan for me and it included these wonderful, talented, beautiful sisters.

I want to share with you a fabulous shop that the three of us enjoy so much. It is called "Passiflora" and is located in Plainwell, Michigan. Won't you take a tour with me?

Passiflora is owned by Angela Ridgway and is located in an old schoolhouse. There is a distinctive "french flair" and is decorated with an elegant simplicity. Some of the items for purchase include...

The most realistic (ever!) silk flowers

beautiful holiday and seasonal decor

vintage linens
