I want to thank you all for all of your thoughts and prayers . I am so overwhelmed by the outpouring of love I have received from all of you.

These last 5 weeks have been such a journey for our family.
We have been driving into Chicago alot lately for doctor appointments and scans. This is a scene of the city I will be seeing alot in the next couple of months.
I have found a doctor that I love . I will be starting treatment next week. all though I am not looking forward to it I am thankful that it is an option.

I am learning so much through all of this. I am learning to bring my worries to God everyday. There are some simple things that I have been doing that have helped me so much. 1st is spending time in Gods word everyday.

I also have started journaling everyday. Talk about good therapy. There is something about writing down your thoughts worries and what you are grateful for that is so healing.

My mom bought this for me and I love it.

I have also tried to change my eating habits. I have always bought some organic fruits and veggies, and have tried to stay away from foods with a lot of preservatives but now I have really been putting a lot of thought into what I am putting into my body.

It is easy to find organic produce at your local grocery store but it definitely cost more.

I have also invested in some more natural skin care. Out with all of the anti wrinkle creams:(

So I went to Target and found this organic make up by perspective that I really like and it was not at all expensive.

I found this night cream at T.J Maxx. You have to love good ol T.J's

Thank you again for all of your kind comments it means so much to me!!!!

I need your prayers! If you have read my blog for a while you might remember that I had to have surgery about a month ago. It was to be a routine surgery, a hysterectomy to remove a large fibroid. That large fibroid turned out to be a very rare type of cancer. I debated whether to share this on my blog or not. I thought that maybe i just needed someplace to go where i could pretend everything was normal. But it's not. This is my new journey in life . I can not hide from it , it is with me all of the time. So I have decided to share this journey that I am on with you. I still will blog about all the joys in my life because there are still many but for me to go on blogging like my life has not been changed was to hard. I have already learned so much!!!! I have learned to trust and rest on God like I never have before and for that I am so grateful. I am scared, I am sad, I am anxious but when I cry out to God he brings me peace, peace that surpasses all understanding. I know that he is carrying me through this, and I am so grateful for that!! I have started a caring bridge page where I will be updating and sharing my journey. If you would like to follow this part of my life you can go http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/sherrielarkins. I am having a series of scans to determine the best treatment. I will be starting chemo soon. Please keep my family in your prayers as we start thing long journey.

weekend projects and saturday finds

This weekend I had a chance to finish up a little project i have been working on.

It was this banner for my son Luke.

He has wanted one for his room for a long time and i found some fabric that I liked.

I also did some local shopping, where I found this adorable Tracey Porter frame.

And this wicker tray.

And how about this cute little bag.
That is really an insulated cooler.

Some pretty ribbon.
