Last weekend was a busy one!
But it seems like lately all of my weeks have been busy!
Having a booth in a shop makes for an extra busy
holiday season.
I have been making some holiday things to sell.
It has been fun
The glue gun is my best friend ,
and also my worst enemy .
I can't tell you how many time I have burnt my fingers.
Some vintage ornaments I found at an estate sale last summer.
A dressed up mason jar.
This has been the state of my craft room the last couple of weeks.
I have cleaned and organized it,
but it won't stay organized for long.
My sister is coming today,
I think we will have to fit in some
crafting , along with
cooking turkey,
cleaning up after crazy boys,
and of course shopping!

Flea market
This weekend is
Holly Day open House.
we have all been working on Christmas for
awhile, so it will fun to see all of it in the store!
Last weekend Was Kane county flea market.
I have been going to the
Kane county flea market
for a long time.
So I decided that it might be time
to take the plunge and rent a booth
and try to make some money
instead of spending it!
from Carters Cottage
(where I have a booth)
were there with me.
We were really happy with
how well we did.
I sold lots of furniture,
which my husband was happy about.
Not so much about the money I made, but about
being able to park is car in our garage again!
We will definitely be back in the spring.
We also sold a lot of paint!
So if you are a Kane county
shopper,
make sure to stop by in the spring and say hello.

Kitchen redo
This is what my kitchen use to look like!
This was suppose to be our 5 year house,
9 years later we are still here.
So I decided to take the plunge and redo my kitchen to match
the rest of my house.
the rest of my house.
I had some one come out and give me an estimate
to paint the cabinets and it was going to be over 3500. 00!
So I decided to do it myself.
I used Anne Sloan chalk paint in
Old White.
I put on 2 coats of paint,
distressed them around the edges
and added clear wax.
I then had a professional remove the panels of 3 of my doors.
And add glass.
It took me a day and a half to finish,
and only
3 quarts of paint!
I love chalk paint
I use it all the time.
But I really love the look of it on my cabinets!
I wish I would have done this a long time ago.
I finally feel like my kitchen goes with the rest of my house.
Here is a peak at my cake plate collection.
It coast me under 400.00 to do this.
I still need to get hardware, but I saved us
3000.00 to do this myself,
So I might splurge a little bit on the hardware.
I am linking up with
White Wednesday
over at
Faded Charm
and also with
Jennifer Rizzo.
Make sure to visit Jennifers
blog and take a peak at her beautiful
kitchen!
