Friday pretties

I have been trying to enjoy the 

last days of summer

by spending some time outside.

We are in the full swing of a fall schedule,

but I'm not ready to let go of Summer.

I'm going to soak up these last 

hot, sunny days!

Speaking of fall my youngest has his first football

game tonight.

Thats a true sign of fall!

 I was out treasure hunting

and I stumbled across these little beauties.

They match my fire place screen perfectly.

I also found this adorable little rocking chair.

I love all the details you find on antique furniture.

I might have to recover the seat.

The fabric is beautiful, but it's a little beat up.

I wasn't able to post

because I was busy getting ready for my sale.

I thought I would share a few more pictures with you.

 It was such a fun weekend.

I loved seeing returning customers,

and new faces.

I love my vintage umbrella!

It was great having my mother-in-law here to help.

I think she had fun.

She went home with a car load of goodies.

A couple of months ago I picked up this cabinet at the

flea market.

My intention was to sell it.

After having it in the shop for a while I decided to bring it home.

I really wanted to keep it, but had no place for it.

Until that is I switched my living room around.

Now it lives happily next to my fire place,

holding some of my favorite decorating books.

 Someday it will end up in the shop again,

but for now I am enjoying the extra storage.

i can't believe it is time for my monthly sale.

I have been gathering and working hard getting ready for it.

 I found this vintage umbrella at an estate sale.

I love it!

I have lots of pops of color

everywhere.

 Fun new vintage items.

 A collection of old vintage lamps.

 And so much more.

Saying goodbye

A couple of weeks a go my friend Heidi moved to Nashville.

It is always hard to say goodbye to good friends.

I find myself as I get older not letting as many people in.

I know what I want in friendships and what I don't.

 I am so blessed with friends who

encourage, love, and accept me for who I am.

But if we close ourselves off to much we can miss out on some pretty great friendships.

I have only known Heidi for a couple of years but i am so glad that 

we were able to become friends.

We had a little going away party for her.

Dinner out,

and then back to the studio for chocolate cake and wine.

It was a bitter sweet night.

I'm so sad to see Heidi move,

 but so thankful 

that for our friendship
